Western Stars Gallery Reopened at 160 Main — for a 12 Days of Christmas Sneak Peek / Pop Up:
After nine months, a state of limbo was escorted out by behind-the-scenes motion — dreaming, kindness of strangers, tweaking, moving, sorting, asking and receiving, lifting, unwrapping, and styling… Western Stars Gallery & Studio was briefly back open at 160 Main Street in Lyons for a festive 12 Days of Christmas Sneak Peek / Pop Up. And oh my goodness… it took a village!
This reopening is forever wrapped in heartfelt gratitude with a big red bow.
The Hands & Hearts Behind the Reboot
First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to Sally Glass, whose vision, benevolence and can-do spirit helped carry us through every stage of this transition back to our former location. From logistics to laughter, Sally is a most welcome and delightful bright new cornerstone for Lyons.
To Tra Ling Tu, Laura Levy, and Brian McCann — thank you for your tireless navigation with sleeves rolled up and hearts wide open. You helped move walls (almost literally) to reawaken the positive energy of and fresh possibilities for this space.
And to the many helping hands — friends, neighbors, artists, family — who lifted boxes, fluffed merchandise, adjusted lighting, schlepped, unpacked, delivered, swept floors, and offered encouragement: we see you and are grateful beyond words.
Opening Night Magic
Our sneak-peek opening felt exactly like Lyons at its best — warm, creative, collaborative, and just a wee bit sparkly.
It was less an event and more a gathering of creative kin and collaborative spirit.
- Brenda Moore, Melissa and Robert Oviatt, Malena Hirschfeld, Andy Maestas, Elizabeth Helgans, Wolfie and Rich Macrae, Jhett Christenson, and so many others did all the things (and then some) – needed to move in and pop-up our blue light special preview launch – all in less than two week’s time.
- Local musician Chuck Sitero filled the gallery with rich, easy tunes that wrapped around the gallery like a soundtrack hug for hope and community.
- Judy and John Bigger kindly orchestrated a delicious spread that kept conversation flowing and spirits high.
- Crystal White jumped in to capture photo evidence that this all actually happened.
- David DeCoster stealthily powered through updating inventory and bar codes, while handling the check-out cha cha cha with aplomb.
- Jax DeCoster poured the bubbly with grace and good cheer — adding just the right celebratory sparkle to this Western Stars’ family affair.
To Our Artists — Thank You for Your Trust
Most especially, we thank the two dozen artists who rallied in record time to bring their
glorious creations into the fold — bronzes, paintings, glass, textiles, wood, jewelry, and
mixed media works that radiated throughout the three rooms we had open and
embodied the spirit of this place we once again are privileged to call home.
Entrusting a gallery with your work is an act of faith. We do not take that lightly.
Your artistry transforms our walls into a tapestry of experience. Your talents keep Lyons
vibrant. Your courage stewards this local creative economy by keeping the arts of all ilk
alive and personal and authentic.
A Fresh Chapter at 160 Main
Reopening at 160 Main feels both like coming home and stepping into something new.
The entire space is evolving — thoughtfully curated, warmly lit, layered inside and out
with Colorado textures and stories and opportunities.
Those twelve festive days were our soft unveiling. A preview. A wink. A celebration of
resilience and renewal in true to Lyons’ style.
We are deeply grateful for this community — for the music makers, the food bringers,
the art lovers, the collectors, the encouragers, the box-haulers, the floor-sweepers and
snow shovelers, the dreamers. Western Stars shines because of you.
